Lowenhyte Lodge is a small but very successful Dachshund kennel that began in 1995 with Mini Smooths under the Lowenhyte prefix and have now extended into  Lowenwyre Mini Wires . Although we have had great sucess in the show ring it is the sound temperament of all our dogs that we are most proud of, they are all brought up in a loving enviroment and treated as members of the family.

Lowenhyte began when I aquired my first Mini Smooth Aust. Ch Uneetoile Munchkin (Munchie) . He became my best mate and in the show ring he was like a good red wine getting better with age, winning the DCWA Members points score in 1997,98,99 & 2000 he then won Best In Group at the Western Classic 2003 & Best Veteran in Show at the Perth Royal 2002. Munchies first partner was Aust. Ch Wynook In Love With Amy (Amo) who  won Best of Breed at the 1998 Perth Royal. She proved to be an out standing brood bitch producing 2 outstanding pups in her first litter Aust. Ch Lowenhyte Snugglepot (Pot) & Aust. Ch Lowenhyte Cuddlepie (Cuddles) both of whom won multiple in Show & In Group awards. Her 2nd mating with Munchie produced the outstanding Aust. Ch Lowenhyte Pumpkin who won the DCWA members pointscore 2001 & 2002 along with the Best Intermediate Mini Smooth at the 2003 Sydney Dachshund National. Pumpkin was sent to Val Tapps Aust. Ch Stardayne Splendid and produced Aust. Ch Lowenhyte Neville (Nifty) who won Best In Group 2004 Western Classic and won the 2003 & 2004 DCWA members points score. Cuddles was leased to Elsaluchi Kennels and mated to Aust. Ch Stardayne Horatio producing Aust. Ch Elsaluchi Priscila. Nifty mated with Priscilla producing BISS Winner  Aust.Ch Lowenhyte Godfrey. Nifty & Cuddles produced  the Multi Best in Group winner  Aust. Ch Lowenhyte Hannah. Best In group winner  Aust. Ch Lowenhyte Rupert (Rupert) arrived after mating Pot to Priscilla. In 2005 I aquired Aust.  Ch Seivol Especially For You (JC) from Vicki Pettigrove and put him to Priscilla producing one of our latest stars Lowenhyte Ethel who won BOB at the 2007 Perth Royal. In 2006 Cheryl Acford (Elphyn) sent her bitch  Aust. Ch Leedach Wota Knockout to be mated with Nifty ,this resulted in Ch Elphyn Uma who has won multiple In Show and Group wins since arriving in our kennel, she made the semi final of the 2008 Puppy of the Year. Over the years we have won numerous Best Brace in Show awards showing the consistant type of our dogs.

In 2004 we began to show the Mini Wires when we acquired Aust. Ch Elphyn James (James) from Cheryl and Roger Acford and in 2005 were lucky enough to gain  Aust.Ch Elphyn Primrose ( Chimpy). These 2 produced Ch. Lowenwyre Molly.
